Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Cleveland, OH
Grade: 19
Reports to: Manager of Engineering & Maintenance
Job Level: Experienced (non-supervisory); exempt

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Duties
• Responsible for installed mechanical, steam, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including their expansion and adaptation to meet strategic objectives, assisting with their maintenance, documenting them as required, and updating them for code compliance
• Project management to support the operations team, including the project budget, paperwork, schedule, contractor vetting and selection process, contractor management, and integration
• Scoping and estimating of proposed and upcoming projects on the capital expenditure plan
• Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting equipment and systems as needed
• Develop documentation for new or updated systems based on process requirements
• Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency of operations
• Ensure a safe workplace by promoting and practicing safe work practices
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

Required Skills and Experience

Education
A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required, mechanical engineering preferred

Work Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant industrial experience including designing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in the brewing industry

Required Qualifications
• Expertise in the following technologies: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CMMS
• Prior experience with continuous and batch processes
• Expertise with common business software, including Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to organize and effectively convey technical information to members of management and co-workers
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
• Ability to exercise initiative and judgment as well as make decisions within the scope of assigned authority
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to operate in a team environment and follow written and verbal instructions
• Effectively handle lifting  and handling of various objects weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally
• Willingness to work flexible and extended hours as needed, including being available as needed outside of normal business hours during the week and weekends
• Experience with troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience with equipment startups and interfacing with other trades/disciplines
• Machining, welding, fabrication, structural design
• Facilities maintenance, specifically historical buildings
• General contractor work, specifically within the City of Cleveland
• Experience designing and/or installing hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems

Licensure/Certification
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
• Licensed General Contractor in the State of Ohio preferred
• PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or above preferred
